Ledgowan Craft Fairs

At long last we've scheduled fair dates for 2009.

This year we'll be holding three general fairs - this is due to the numerous enquiries from people outside the craft sector who'd love to come along to Ledgowan and exhibit their wares. Plus, we've decided to try out including a limited number (8) of car boot spaces, in the hotel grounds, for the first two dates.

The dates for these events are as follows:

Saturday 29 August: fair and car boot

Saturday 26 September: fair and car boot

FRIDAY 27 November: Christmas Fair - no car boot

If you would like further details, or would like to make a booking, please go to:

An automated system will email you the full details and booking form.

Hope you can join us!

(Note: Fair attendees will be allocated tables inside the hotel - car boot attendees will be allocated a 'pitch' in the hotel grounds).

It's beautiful up here in the winter...

A short history of Ledgowan Lodge Hotel

The hotel was originally built as a private shooting lodge in 1904, for a Major Ross as part of his 8,500 acre Ledgowan estate. It took six years to complete, being virtually 'hand' built. However, due to the high costs involved in running the estate it was sold to Lord Latymer of Coutts Bank, London. It remained in the family until the second World War, when the army used it as a barracks for their officers, but keeping it in top class condition. After the war Ledgowan remained empty for around 15 years. It was then discreetly converted into a country house hotel, and separated from the estate, although retaining most of its original charm and character.
